For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14
The most important decision one can make in life is to “receive Christ” (John 1:12). It is a life- and eternity-changing decision, one that involves both God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility (John 1:12-13).
The decision is so major, the circumstances leading to it so varied, and the result so dramatic that Christians often ask each other: “How did you become a Christian?”
Asking the “how” question of salvation is certainly good, but asking “Why did you become a Christian?” may be a better way to not only understand the how of another’s faith story but to discern whether that person truly has been “rescued … from the domain of darkness, and transferred … into the kingdom of His beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13).
There is really only one “why”, one motivation that leads to genuine saving faith. What is it? We will kick off the first LIVE program of The Christian Worldview in 2015 discussing this most important topic!
