Guest: Gregg Frazer, author, The Religious Beliefs of America’s Founders
America was once a nation that generally revered God and His Word. That has changed over the past 50 years. Two Supreme Court rulings in particular—the legalizing of the killing of unborn babies in the 1970s, and more recently, the redefining of marriage to include homosexual couples—have institutionalized a rejection of God in foundational areas of society with regard to life, family, and marriage.
For most of America’s history, Christians had a sense of patriotism, a love and loyalty for what our nation stood for. But with the increasingly ungodly ethos of America and the hostility with which mainstream society marginalizes and even persecutes Christians and their values, should Christians still be patriotic? Is patriotism something that God desires for Christians?
Gregg Frazer, author of The Religious Beliefs of America’s Founders and a professor of history and political studies at The Master’s College, will join us this weekend and next to discuss what patriotism means for Christians in 2015 America.
