“Authentic Christianity assumes a meaningful worldliness” said pastor Art Azurdia in a recent sermon. In other words, Christians should avoid the extremes of assimilation and isolation from the world, but rather engage enough to be used by God in HIs work of redemption.
This is what Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17: “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”
The pastor closed by saying “church is the huddle but the game is played out there.” So let’s engage with non-believers to tell them the way of salvation.
