Islam exerts a tight grip on both Muslims and non-Muslims, particularly in Muslim-controlled areas. Muslims fear ostracism and even the death penalty for leaving the religion, while non-Muslims are given three choices: convert, die, or the dhimma pact, which is subjugation and taxation to keep your head.
This fear-based system is enslaving and breaking free is daunting. But this is were Christ’s work on the cross comes in.
While we are not guaranteed political freedom, we are promised spiritual freedom when we put our faith in Christ. Jesus said, “If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
