What do the last words of Jesus on the cross mean for us today?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

This past Friday commemorated Jesus offering Himself to pay God’s just death penalty for our sin.  During the six hours that He hung dying on the cross, Jesus made seven statements that give us rich insight into His person and purpose.

One of His statements, “It is finished”, is translated from the Greek accounting term tetelestai, meaning “paid in full.”  This is the best news for us, that Jesus paid our sin debt against God in full.  And then three days later He rose victoriously over death.  Jesus is the only living Savior and Lord!

This weekend, we’ll discuss how the humanistic worldview responds to Islamic barbarism.
