From Hollywood to media to politics to business, the list of prominent men who have been accused of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse grows by the day: movie producer Harvey Weinstein, television hosts Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose, U.S. Senator Al Franken, candidate Roy Moore, and entertainers Kevin Spacey and Garrison Keillor to name just a few of a much longer list.
Of course accusation does not mean accuracy, but there has been enough admissions from some of these and others to raise the question: Why this rash of sexual transgressions?
Is it simply because more women are willing to come forward and say “#MeToo”? Or is there a cultural dynamic that is creating an environment for these incidents?
