America first came to know about Hillary Clinton in 1992 when her husband Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States. Now nearly 25 years later, which included eight years as First Lady, eight years in the U.S. Senate representing New York, and four years as Secretary of State under President Obama, Hillary Clinton is the Democrat Party’s nominee for President.
Born and raised in a politically conservative family in Illinois, her political views began to change when her Methodist youth minister taught her about social justice and took her to hear Martin Luther King Jr. speak. She left the Republican Party for good during her time at Wellesley College, due to a changed outlook on the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. Clinton wrote her senior thesis on Saul Alinsky, a leftist community organizer from Chicago who would write a book entitled Rules for Radicals in which he praises Lucifer as the first radical.
Hillary is one of the most polarizing figures in recent American politics, revered by some as a tireless worker for the working class and oppressed, while vilified by others as a big government corrupt despot.
