Guest: Mike Farris, Co-Author, Religious Freedom Restoration Act
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:34-36
“The current fight over Indiana [with regard to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act] is a real handwriting-on-the-wall moment for orthodox Christians and other religious conservatives, who now understand that the Left’s culture warriors, having won the gay-rights conflict decisively, are determined to shoot the prisoners.”
So started a recent column in Time Magazine entitled, “The Writing’s on the Wall for Christians.”
Our nation was told by homosexual advocates that “marriage equality (i.e. same-sex marriage) won’t impact you,” but that has turned out to be a lie. Christians who refuse to service a homosexual event that violates their religious beliefs are hauled before the courts to be punished. No doubt churches with their “discriminatory policies against gays and women” are next in the firing line.
Make no mistake, God- and Bible-rejectors are redefining the first freedom in the U.S. Constitution—the freedom of religion. What should Christians do? Mike Farris, the co-author of the original 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act and a constitutional lawyer, will join us this weekend on The Christian Worldview.
